Coconut shell charcoal is obtained from coconut shell. It is used as domestic fuel as well as in industries. It is also used to make activated carbon. Coconut shell charcoal is obtained by burning the shell of coconut in a limited supply of air which is sufficient for carbonization.

Working of Charcoal Making Machine:
• The first step is to crush the coconut shells into small pieces. it should be less than 50 mm thick and its moisture should be less than 20% for the carbonization process to start. If sawdust is being used then we put the sawdust to the charcoal machine directly without the crushing process.
• After the crushing, the carbonization process comes. The crushed coconut shells are put into the furnace. The carbonization furnace is heated to a high temperature by placing fire under the furnace. When it reaches the specific temperature of about 280 Degree Celsius, the carbonization process starts and charcoal and combustible gases are formed.
• Then the cooling system is used. The temperature is lowered to about 30 degree Celsius. Then the charcoal is collected.
After process:
After obtaining coconut charcoal from the dust collector, the combustible gases produced in the carbonization process are used again in for the next process. In this way, it is recycled and does not harm the environment. It also saves the cost of more and more fuel.
